Hiking in Ibiza

Ibiza is a great place to enjoy not only the night life, but active life as well. The island is rich in hiking trails that offer magnificent views and provide access to cultural and historical monuments.

Playa d'en Bossa - Es Codolar-Ses Salines-Es Cavallet
The trail begins in a lively tourist area of the Playa d'en Bossa beach and follows the seashore. You can finish the route on any of the following beaches: Es Codolar, Ses Salines, Es Cavallet. The total length of the trail adds up to little more than 8 km. The road connecting the capital of Ibiza with the airport runs parallel to the trail, so it is possible to take a bus or catch a taxi back to the city. If you choose the trail, you get a chance to see the following: the observation tower in Ses Portes, the southernmost point of Ibiza with great views of the neighbouring island Formentera; the Phoenician village in Sa Caleta, a UNESCO World Heritage site; a hippy market in Ses Figueretes.

Sant Josep - Sa Talaia
The trail leads to the highest point on the island - the Sa Talaia mountain, 475 m above the sea level. The trail begins in Sant Josep and goes on for approximately 4 km, making it easy to cover in two hours.

Cala d'en Bou - Playas del Comte
This route takes off in Cala d'en Bou and follows the seashore, allowing hikers to enjoy small villages, sea views, and many types of birds nesting in the area. The trail takes approximately 6 hours to complete, finishing in Playas del Compte, a federally protected nature site.
Not far from Cala d'en Bou, in a fishermen village called Sant AgustГ des VedrГ  you can see an old military tower Torre del Comte, also known as Torre d'en Rovira, dating back to the 17th century, that was build to help protect the shoreline of Ibiza from military aggression.
