The brightest example of Prague's Modernisme (Art Nouveau) is located on the spot where a royal palace founded by VГЎclav IV near Powder Tower formerly stood. The Municipal House was built in 1905-1911 by architects Osvald PolГvka and AntonГn BalЕЎГЎnek. All Czech Modernist artists of that time contributed to the decoration of the house. The facade is crowned with a large ceramic mosaic by Karel Е pillar, titled "Homage to Prague". The interior is famous for Alfons Mucha's murals and the Smetana Hall, a central concert space in Prague.
