Mountain biking is the primary sport activity in Whistler during the summer months and the reason why Whistler is so alive when other winter resorts hibernate. Most of the mountain trails on the Whistler mountain are in use in summer. Depending on your level, you may take advantage of all or almost all mountain biking routes in Whistler.
Various biking classes, workshops and clinics are available for both beginners and experts. Many of them, for example, the women-only "Girls' night out" half-day event, are extremely popular and cater to all levels as well.
There is no dire need to bring your own bike with you, as there are a lot of rental services with various mountain bikes and accessories open in the Whistler Village. Wearing protective knee-pads and especially helmets is compulsory for all riders.
Various mountain bike contests and special events take place regularly at the base of the Whistler mountain. They are usually open to everybody, so there is plenty of opportunity to show off your skills if you feel up to it!
